Porous & Fibrous provides the Greek market with certified, contemporary floors of high quality, aesthetic and design value, while following the architecture and interior design trends, with respect towards the environment.
Its supplier network includes Belgium, Germany, Italy and Greece, resulting in high-standard materials.
Pores and fibers are of major importance, as well as details, quality, variety and endurance.
Whenever there’s a constructional particularity, a team of experts attends to it, resolving all application-related matters.
Irene Kontou is the founder of Porous & Fibrous.
She has a degree in Business Management and Administration from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
She focused on construction work and specialized in the field of flooring.
Between 2007-2015, working as a Project & Site Manager for Marianna Christaki – Vasilopoulou’s Diachroniki Ltd. (import, provision & placement of floors and interior design materials), she fulfilled small and large-scale projects in Greece and abroad, in collaboration with the biggest architecture studios and construction companies.
Some of the most characteristic projects are the following: luxurious residence B in Kavouri (Kokkinou & Kourkoulas Architects / Berios S.A.), Hotel 5* «The MET Hotel» in the center of Thessaloniki (Zeppos – Georgiadi Architects / ETETH S.A.), Hotel Occidental in Kos, Hotel in Bulgaria (TERNA), Office and Retail Building «Maroussi Plaza Center» (Paradisos Amarousiou), Alpha Bank Building (L. Athinon), National Bank Building (Gerakas), Buildings for Shipping Agencies (Thenamaris Shipping, Marmaras Shipping), Suburban Railway Station (J&P – AVAX).
In 2009 she took part in the construction of Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai, the world’s highest skyscraper (160 stories and total height 827m), serving as a Site Manager for the supply and placement of the deck flooring at the pavillions and terraces. The building houses offices, luxurious apartments, and the Armani Hotel Dubai.
